Wow, 30 inch display. Seems a bit much, especially with the economy being like it is right now, but it might be better by the time they would release this. I think 30 inches is to big for a computer display, sure it would be nice, but the price would probably be a too much, not to mention having a 30 inch monitor 2 feet in front of you seems a bit much. I would probably want one, being the gadget-geek that I am, always wanting new things.
As for the 'a new digital lifestyle device', I would like to see some portable video drive. It would need to have composite RCA outs, for hook up to a TV or something (or an adapter). I do a number of videos for my church, and it would be much easier to just load the video onto this device, take it to church and hook it up, and be good to go. Would cut down on using Mini-DV tapes, and would even be cheaper than DVD's (with current prices anyway). This is the only thing I could see needing 800mbps FW.
I really would like to see this as a separate device from the iPod, because it would need a larger screen, color screen, and would probably drain a battery pretty quickly, so you wouldn't be able to use it so much for music. The device itself would probably need to be larger, so I'd rather see the iPod stay the size it is now, and just create a new device.
Of course, none of this will ever happen, but I do still like this idea, as well as seeing an Apple PDA (although with the PDA market being what it is, I would rather see Apple stick with media devices). Although I'm sure an Apple PDA would be one nice media device. I can almost see iCal and iSync as aluding to a PDA like device, but who knows.

What do you reckon the stock levels will be? 10 maybe? Five 16gb and five 32gb?
They'll get more than 10 phones. I'm guessing they will have more 16gb models than 32gb though. Which are you after? I'm aiming for the 32gb version.
I guess there is always carphone warehouse if o2 run out!

Its also the buggiest thing on the OS, it disables typing after a few minutes, doesnt want to load web pages some times, and everytime you skip around in a flash video it starts it as a new download without killing the old one meaning youll end up with a bunch of FLV's being downloaded at the same time killing your bandwidth and having your video stopped on sites that dont allow multiple connections.

Yeah, the PS3 browser is terribly shite.
The best software for streaming media to your PS3 is PS3MediaServer, which is free but Intel only. So unfortunately you can't really use your G5 as the media server. The PlayStation requires a uPnP server for streaming and if your MyBook jobbie is connecting and doing the trick, then you're halfway there. The best thing you can do is rip all your files to a format the PS3 likes with Handbake on your Mac and load it all up on the WD HDD.
We don't get Netflix in the UK, but LoveFilm has started a streaming video service which is about the closest we're ever going to get. We do however get shortcuts to BBC iPlayer, ITV Player and 4oD on the XMB.
Oh, and sign up for a PSN account. Download WipEout HD Fury and have a blast at that. You've got a decent machine with good games. The Blu-ray player is great, so we just need to get your media streaming sorted out.

No, you can't 'force' such a thing. No one knows for certain when Lion will be released. Note that there is a Lion forum (http://forums.macrumors.com/forumdisplay.php?f=152), where answers to your Lion-related questions will be found.

My iPhone 4 is actually better than both point and shoot cameras we own (we haven't bought a new one in a few years), so yes, it has totally replaced my point and shoot camera.

I fail to see the need to preserve a baseband that can't be unlocked.
The team isn't going to waste their time working on 3.10 when they can just work on the most recent, or put serious effort into whatever comes with 5.0.
Then they'd just have everyone update to 5.0.
There is the off chance that they'll find a crash in one of the older basebands that was inadvertently fixed in the newer basebands. But I agree in that it probably isn't worth preserving since there's an equal chance that one of the newer basebands will have a crash that wasn't available in an older one... and w/ the iPhone 4 you can only install whatever baseband is being signed at that moment, so preserving a baseband might actually screw one's unlock chances too.
Hopefully they can figure out the NCK Unlock stuff since that'd be just as good as an official unlock. If the key truly is 40-bits, it shouldn't be that hard to brute force. Everything has been kinda quiet lately though, so who knows what's going on behind the scenes. They might even be saving it for the iPhone 5 release

What's the difference anyway (besides of the brand)?
Is one faster? more silent? more durable?
Seagate has gone down in the last couple of years in terms of build quality and reliability. I have had nothing but good things to say about Western Digital drives.
The current iMac 27' I have (the 3rd one I've received from Apple,) was fitted with a Seagate drive. I regret not keeping the first iMac I received with the cracked glass, as that had a Western Digital drive in it. The WD drive was much quieter. Performance is probably a wash, but I'll take the silence anyday, short of putting a Green/5x00rpm drive inside.
I know the 2TB WD Caviar Blacks are fairly loud, but my new one is staying with a 1TB drive. Hope I get the WD.

If this is what iCab did then Apple should have done this a long time ago.
Seems strange that they approved it in the first place.

Or you could close the lid, put the Macbook Air flat on the table.
Simultaneously apply pressure from above on two diagonally opposite corners.
    Repeat for the other corners.
Worked for me on the rev C.
Basically you are saying that the case is physically warped and that I should apply torque on the MBA case to fix the warp. That sounds a bit risky. I think I will bring this back.

Well SafariSpeed works great, but PithHelmet crashed Safari when I went to CNN.com. I noticed PithHelmet hasn't been updated since 10.3.8 came out, so maybe that's the problem. Thanks for the tips!
Use PithHelmet version 0.7.3. The latest versions don't work well. Always crashing, slowing down safari... ugh.

No, because it only applies to Macs bought at one of the listed locations.
I see, I'm going to read over the Terms And Conditions after work.
One part says 'For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, the time of purchase may extend from the day of your Mac purchase until the end of Apples 14-day return period'.
I guess it still implys that I need to purchase the computer from Apple and only Apple, but that I have two weeks to purchase the 1 to 1.

Europe at War in 1914IntroductionThe events that triggered the First World War began with an unluckymistake. The First World War, which lasted from 1914 to 1918 known atthe time as 'The Great War'. It involved more countries than anyprevious war. It introduced new technology into warfare, and causeddestruction on an unequalled scale. It was 'total war', involving themobilization, not just of vast armies, but of whole nations. The human cost of the war- in terms of damaged minds and bodies, andruined lives- was beyond calculation. In some ways, mankind has neverrecovered from the horrors of the First World War. Countries which gotinvolved were Britain, Germans, Russia, France, Italy andAustria-Hungary.Alliance SystemThis was a form of military agreement made to protect fellow alliesfrom any invasion. From the 1870s onwards, the powers formed alliancesfor greater security. This caused fear in some countries and hence twoalliance systems were formed. Triple Alliance was made up of Germany,Italy and Austria-Hungary. While Triple Entente was made up of theBritain, France and Russia. The importance of this international webof military as thought by some European powers was that it madelimited war very unlikely. When two great powers, went to war, thealliances had a domino effect, dragging others into the conflict.Hence this made the major war inevitable thus leading to a long termcause of the First World War.Arms RaceIt would be argued that another reason for the war starting was theArms Race. The German emperor Wilhelm II had a dream of being animperial ruler. He set his sights on havi...... middle of paper ......tion attempt. This was thespark that caused war to be declared.Alliance System Kicked Into ActionConclusionAlthough Germany may have forced the hand of the European powers inthe summer 1914, she didn't 'cause' the war. However during 1920s theGermans published all their official documents to prove that theyweren't the ones who caused the war. After studying, some historians(revisionists) agreed that Germany did not start the war. One of thehistorians suggested that four other general factors had workedtogether to create a tense situation in Europe, in which war was boundto break out sooner or later. The causes he identified were:nationalism (the fanatical support of ones own nation); militarism (anarms race); imperialism (empire-building); and the system of alliancesbetween the great powers.
